Hello everyon! I'm getting married June 13th, 2007 at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum. I had a few questions that maybe some of you all maybe able to answer! We are going to have around 20-30 people and I was wanting to request a block of rooms. I was wondering which villas were the best. We would love an ocean view and to be close to the snack bar and all the happenings.

We were also given the options of having the reception dinner at La Gran Tortuga or at Tequila...was wondering which one was the best!

Also heard that there was a karaoke bar...just wondering if anyone new anything about it!

Thanks

MayanBride

we preferred the gran tortuga for dinner, but the tequila is right next to the wedding 'gazebo' - it would be lovely for a reception. your best bet for blocks of rooms is to email the resort - are you working with a wedding planner there?

We are working with a wedding coordinator. We opted not to do the ceremony at the gazebo. We wanted it directly on the beach. Out of the two restaurants, which has the nicer atmosphere?

We are in the process of requesting villas, but we wanted to know which specific ones to request! We don't want to be in "the back forty" as us Arkansans say = )

Thanks for the advice!

Hi MayanBride,

who is your coordinator? I requested that our group (of 28) be near the main pool and lobby. She asked for a list of everyones name and arrival date and said she would forward it to the registration desk so they can arrange the rooms together.

We requested the Tortuga for dinner. I heard it is very good, although I haven't read anything bad about Tequila either. I would love to stay in contact with you since you are going only a month ahead of me. (You're getting married on my bday!) Email me and we can chat some more.

hello Mayan bride,

Well my sister was married at the bpt in november and I was her maid of honour. We travelled in a group of 18. We stayed in villas very close to one another and right near the one pool and snack bar. I would recommend villa 12, 14, 15 and 17 for ocean views that are just amazing. We were in 1725 and had a great view and my sister enjoyed hers which was 1223. Her reception was held at the gran tortuga, which has a very nice atmosphere and each guest had a choice of beef or salmon. I had the salmon which was amazing and we preordered the 3 milk cake...yummy. Ask for a table alongside the windows and you will have an amazing view. We chose this one as it was close to all of our rooms, so it made it easier to go back and change or whatever we needed. She did have her wedding at the gazebo, which was fabulous. Also jasmin was the coordinator and she was awesome as was the photographer, conrado. IF you'd like to see any photos, or need more info, dont hesitate to ask, Just send me your email address. have a great wedding, it's amaizing there.... Donna

Villa 14 is a good spot and any other villa (11 and 12 I think) around that one. It is close to the snack bar and La Gran Tortuga restaurant. It is also close to the quieter pool and the beach. We stayed in this villa for our honeymoon in February and it was an awesome spot.

Both restaurants are nice, I can't say one is any better than the other. Tequila definitly has a more Mexican atmosphere but it's not as convenient since it's not close to villa 14.

I think there was a "lipsynch night" while we were there but didn't check it out. Not sure if there was a karaoke bar. There was so much we didn't check out this time.. (But we WILL be back..lol)
