My soon to be husband (god I love saying that!!!) and I are going to Aventura Spa Palace for our honeymoon. We will be staying there from October 28, 2007 to November 4, 2007. We are going through RCI and have some questions.

Which room block has the best view, best rooms and best beds? From what I understand, we get a garden-view room through RCI with the possibility of upgrading later on. Well we don't think the extra cash is really worth it since it's just a room. So we are looking for a room block with garden-view rooms.

Also do you get treated any differently when you are with RCI? Not that I care, but my soon to be husband wishes to know.

And does anyone know if the passport promotion is available to RCI members?

Congratulations!!!! You are going to have a BLAST!!!! There are LOTS of honeymooners!!! My husband and I went for 2 years ago for our 25th Anniversary (it just gets better and better!!!!) and are going back in a month. I cannot remember what the passport promotion is. Tell your husband-to-be that he need not worry. Everyone is treated like royalty at the Palace! Also, even though the tips are supposed to be included, take a little extra cash. You don't have to give away the farm, but the people are so thankful for just a little bit you will get it back ten-fold! We put a dollar or so in the fridge for the guys who come by and restock the bar everyday because they are separate from the maids and we leave $5 for the maids everyday. Believe me, they really appreciate it! Also, give them US dollars. The exchange rate is better for them.

Don't get caught up with the time share people. Just tell them you cannot afford it or something and be firm. They will leave you alone. And...do not...do not go for the 'ole "hotel tour" routine. Actually, now that I think about it, they did not bother us, but we are members, that might be why. I have gone to the Palace Resorts as a member and as an RCI guest and I was treated exactly the same!

As far as the rooms, I think they are all pretty good if you aren't particular about an ocean view. I am, so I was really dissappointed last time we went, but as it turned out I liked the privacy of the garden room and we were on the bottom floor!

I did like the rooms that were near the labrynth (sp?) and from the pictures it looks like the plants are bigger, so it should be nice. That side is pretty quiet. If you want more action you can ask to be nearer the spa area. No matter what though, if you don't like your room, asked to be moved. Don't offer them extra money, but keep asking even if they offer to move you the next day. I cannot say that you would get a bad room anywhere on the grounds. Make sure to visit the Disco. It was full of Honeymooners when we went and really fun Karoke. The only think was in the Disco people smoked and in California we are a smoke free state. It's amazing how you get used to everything being smoke free.

The spa is FAB!!!!

Have a wonderful time and best wishes!
