What a fantastic experience this adventure turned out to be, we headed down the Punta Allen road which is pretty good now about a 1 1/2 hour drive thru the jungle and along the coast, we arrived in this quaint Mayan lobster diving village, about 70 families and were greeted by the Sirena, who lost three ships and ended up being adopted by the locals as La Sirena (the mermaid) and she has been here for 17 years, what a charming lady, we had rented the Casa Chica for a 4 day stay. The Casa is delightful, beds, hammocks, kitchen, fans, everything you need. We loved her garden, so many flowers, coconut trees and many humingbirds. We ended up reading her story which she wrote, what an adventursome spirit. she took us on a boat tour, we saw loggerhead turtles, a school of dolphins which put on a show for us, and we snorkeled the Mayan Reef, The Punta Allen restuarants are great, mini grocery stores, what a place to re-energize. This certainly was the highlight of our trip.........we will be back for sure!!!!
