tulum restaurants open on christmas day? |
|
Hello! We are going to be in tulum the 24th--28th of december. We are staying at Mezzanine, and their restaurant is closed on Christmas. Does anyone know how I can find out places that are serving on Christmas?I love Tulum, but would hate to starve to death :-) Thanks |
|
I have never heard of a hotel´s restaurant being closed on Christmas. This is one of the busiest nights of the year as far as restaurant business in Tulum. I would say probably 99% of the rest of the hotel restaurants will be open for the holidays, and will be offering a special menu. Once you arrive, you will see flyers and signs around and you can compare.

Thank you so much, Holly--you have really allayed my fears. Yes I was rather surprised atMezzanine's restaurant being closed, but as it appears that we have numerous other choices that is fine. I do have another question--I stayed last time at Coqui Coqui and am familiar with the stretch of beach from Maya Tulum and south. Is the north part near Mezzanine similar in that I can go for a walk on the beach and encounter other restaurants this way? Can I walk south Coqui Coqui on the sand? Thank you so much for your response!

The hotels are actually a bit closer and easier to get to on the north end where you will be. There is a lot that is very close by. There are a bit of rocks between the north and south ends, so you CAN walk along the coast, but you will need shoes for the rocky part of it. Or, once you get to the rocks, you can cut through to the road and then cut back to the beach after you pass the rocks. If I remember correctly, the rocky part is starts just north of the Azul Blue hotel and ends just after it, near Tribal Village. (TV is sandy).

La Nave also has great pizza.

thanks again to both of you! OK, another question regarding Christmas day...I am a serious coffee addict and wakeup early...Do you know when the restaurants generally open in the morning particularly those close to Mezzanine...Thanks!
