We just (2 days) came back from IB Paraiso Beach which is part of same complex.The Maya is almost finished, but it'l probably take another couple of months before opening.Looks very nice on the outside, though the grounds are not as extensive or mature as Beach/Del Mar side. This was our third trip there and we also stayed at IB Punta Cana twice.Their service, accomodations and food the greatest value for the money, but this time around there was a problem with beach area. The sea bottom became so rocky that you can barely find 20 feet of good sand bottom.Unless they do something about it, we'll return to Punta Cana next year.

Zenith, Hello my family of 4 are going to be staying at iberostar paraiso beach 3 weeks from saturday. Besides the beach problem, how was everything else? We have requested building 31. We allready paid for the junior suite. Where did you stay?? Any advice on what to bring??? How were the miscqtios?? Sorry, i no i spelled that wrong! How was the weather?? My kids are 4 and 12. My 12 year old daughter is so excited!! Thanks. Renee

Hi, Renee! Your kids will the greatest time, IB has an excellent kids support program.Definitely bring bugs spray this year and try to avoid ground floor. The best location is bldgs 32 or 33 poolview.

Zenith we are big fans of the Playacar area but I have been looking into Punta Cana. What are the difference between the two areas? The Playa area has gotten very busy the last few years getting kind of a Cancun feel (ie jet skis, para sailing etc) we like the quieter laid back feel. Is Punta Cana busier like Cancun or quiet? And do you know if the diving is good in Punta Cana? Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Hello Zenith! Thank you for the positive feedback. Did your kids enjoy their stay??? Can i ask how old they are. If between 4 and12, did they ever do the kids club?? I was told the Junior suites are buildings 30 and 31. Is this true?? Where did you stay???? Thank you again! Oh, one more thing, did you have a pool view and if so was it noisy??? We were thinking of the garden view because we thought it may get a little noisy on the pool side......Also we requested bld. 31....

sksadams if you are into beach,IB Punta Cana can't be beat. We're not into diving so can't help with that. All the rest is just as good as other IB properties except that it's somewhat smaller (2 parallel bldgs across from each other) and not as lush.It's also away from any residential areas just like Paraiso and less busy than Playacar.

Renee, bldg 31 is second from the beach and also a good spot.Don't be afraid of poolview, with balcony door closed anyway with AC on not much noise during day and after music stops at the pool after 5pm it's silence.

We've been to the Punta Cana and Playa Del Carman Iberostars. The Lindo was superior to Punta Cana. The beach at Lindo last January was spectacular. We just wanted to play in it all day long. I'm sure that the Maya will be grand.
