I am attempting to plan next year's Christmas holiday trip with my husband and two older daughters (early 20's). We stayed at the Playacar Palace this year, which we enjoyed, but missed having a beach. We are considering the Fairmont at Mayakoba, Royal Porto Real, or the new RIU Palace Playacar. We are looking for something upscale and a beautiful beach. What do you think? Thanks for your help.
We stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico in July and it has a beautiful beach. The Riu Palace Riviera Maya does not have much of a beach at all but it has a beautiful pool. We visited the Royal Porto Real while we were there and it is a beautiful resort and right in town instead of a five minute taxi ride like the Riu properties. I have not seen the Fairmont. Enjoy wherever you decide to stay!
