My family will be traveling in April to the Royal Porto. We have never stayed there and have at the sister resort Gran Caribe. So does any one have any suggestions for the best rooms or the worst rooms to stay away from?
Thanks

We stayed in room 307 --- it was great. It was next to one of presidential suites, at the bottom of the "U". We had a large covered balcony with a great view.... from the hammock, you looked right down the centre of the resort to the pool, the ocean, and over to Cozumel. The view at night was also spectacular. The Jacuzzi tub had the same view! It was 2 floors above the restaurants and cigar bar, but noise wasn't an issue. A short walk to the lobby and restaurants.....a little further to the pool and beach (a few minutes).
Just returned...stayed in 336. Non smoking room. Incredible view of pool and ocean. Could be a bit loud prior to 7pm when the pool bar closed, but this never bothered us. We slept with the patio doors open every night and were never disturbed. We read many reviews before we left and heard there was alot of construction on the other side of the resort, however it looks to be finished. However there is another resort being built beyond that so I would try and stay in one of the building facing the pool and away from there. Beware there are also rooms that face the street between the Gran porto real and the Royal porto real, and I believe they may call some of these ocean view also. Try their online check in via their web site. You can actually pick the room you want 48 hours prior to check in. You will Love the resort!!! It is the first place I have ever stayed in Mexico that I plan to return to! I will write a complet review and add photos soon if you would like to check that out.
Does anyone know which would be a better room-310 or 347? 347is closer to the ocean but facing the Gran Porto , so now I am unsure.
Thanks,

One thing to consider with the rooms on the street side, facing the Gran Porto --- the tour buses line up on the street next to the hotel waiting for cruise ship passengers in the morning. If you like to sit on your balcony in the morning with your coffee, the noise and fumes may be an issue. The ships drop anchor just off shore and they taxi passengers to the pier at the end of the street (this was the case last March -- it may have changed). The other consideration is security -- the rooms on the first floor are easy to get to from the street. Of course, this is not an issue for room 347.
Well the issue resolved itself anyway, because when I checked back 347 was taken. Thanks for the info !!!!

We have just booked a jr. suite, non-oceanview. I've seen lots of advise regarding best oceanview but not many for best non-oceanview. I do not want to be near the street. Any ideas?
INTHESUN , I also have booked a JR Suite non Ocean view arriving on April 21 for 7 days. There was a post on here I seen a while back that had a ton of info on room location, it also had a link to a map of the property hope this helps.
