Iberostar Tucan |
|
Hello, I have booked to stay at the Iberostar Tucan and wondered if anyone has a list of tips for really useful items to pack, e.g. an alarm clock, possibly an insulated mug, etc? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Report as inappropriate |

Definitely take an alarm clock with batteries. Apparently, the electricity goes off and on, because ours would be blinking when we returned to the room. After we got batteries we were good. Yes, the insulated mug is a good thing to have too, if you bring coffee up to your room or to keep the drink cold. We were on a mission to find one for the first part of the trip and gave up, didn't want to spend $20/each. We did find them for $10 in the lobby shop our last day, which we much have missed earlier on our search. Also, I found that the mirror in the bathroom was hard to put makeup on with the lighting. I took a mirror that would stand up (like a lighted, but not a lighted so you don't need to plug it in) and used it out on the patio and it was so much easier with the natural lighting and I enjoyed being out there versus tying up the bathroom. Check out the Iberostar Tucan reviews, you'll get more tips from that. It's really a wonderful hotel, I can't say enough good things about it, we loved it and have now been there twice and will be going back. Report as inappropriate

If you use a hair dryer, you may want to bring it from home. They have them there, but there are no heat controls on them and they cook your hair. It does the job, so if you decide to use theirs, BRING HAIR CONDITIONER. Report as inappropriate

Bring along Pepto Bismol or something similar, they sell it there. But a whole lot easier to have it in your room when you really need it. Rooms have safes to keep your valuables. Bring along a camera, the rainforest creatures need to be photographed. Beach is nice there, but for good snorkeling you need to head over to Cozumel. Report as inappropriate

If you plan to go snorkeling, buy one of the disposable underwater cameras and take it along. We got some great pictures and the cameras are much cheaper in the states, when you get to the snorkeling places they sell them but they will be twice as much. Also, if you plan to go snorkeling, we took our snorkels/masks and rented fins and towels. The place we liked best was Xel-Ha because it was very clear and the water was calm.
