Help understanding "Grand Yucatan Princess" room??

We are traveling to PDC for the first time next week for a friend's wedding. We're staying for 3 days at the Grand Sunset Princess and then heading to Tulum for the week.

I'm trying to figure out what room we booked and how close we are to other weddings guests. Since the GSP website was really confusing, we booked through BookIt (something we'd usually NEVER do, but the couple suggested it to guests).

We are booked in a "Grand Yucatan Princess Deluxe Junior Suite" and, for the life of me, I can't figure out what that means. The bride-to-be keeps saying most people are in the "Platinum" level, but we're not, are we?

Any insight from previous guests would be great! What pools can we use and not use? What restaurants? Do we have internet access?

Thanks in advance!

unless theyve opened up some new buildings on the yucatan side that are jr dlx suites, the yucatan side is supposed to be adults only platinum. you should still have all access everywhere except the laguna villa area, as well as premium drinks in the platinum lounges and room service.

WE stayed in the deluxe junior suites and they were perfectly fine, no platinum though. I don't know if that is different from the Grand Yucatan deluxe junior suites. We were located about halfway between the lobby and the beach.

We just got back stayed in the Grand Yucatan princess. It is also platinum however they are junior deluxe , you get all the same perks as platinum but they are adults only and on a totally different side. However it's a short walk across the beautiful hotel property to meet up with our friends in the Platinum section.

Red is correct. here is what happened (I think)......awhile back there was an explosion at the resort. They had to close part of the platinum section down for awhile so they started moving people over to other deluxe junior suites they had just built in the front of the resort closer to the lobby. they gave them the platinum inclusions though since that's what they paid for. Soon the resort realized that making those new rooms which are in essence just deluxe junior suites- and a few swimups- adults only- they could market it separately. So now you have an area that is adults only which is the grand yucatan area which IS adults only Platinum, AND now that it's 100% reopened, you have the platinum area which is closer to the beach and allows children.

They now have 2 platinum areas- one that allows children and one that does not.
