We stayed in a junior suite, which had 2 double beds, and a queen sleeper sofa. It was perfect for us; 2 adults and 2 boys fit very comfortably. We chose the 2 double beds in case the boys started fighting and wanted to sleep with one of us instead LOL, but they were fine sleeping together since they were so dead tired after swimming all day.
With a toddler, I'd suggest a Jr. Suite, on the Colonial side, which is close to the pool and beach. Both sides are pretty identical; the Kantenah side seemed to have less families with children, and was a little quieter.
I'm trying to remember if we had a bathtub...I'm pretty sure we did (my kids both take showers - ages 4 and 6). The Junior suite has the sitting area, which in my opionion, is well worth any extra money.
The cable tv was a joke...unless you like watching Spongebob in Spanish. Bring a portable DVD player if you have one, and bring some kid friendly movies!
Also, the food is not very good at all. My kids lived on chicken nuggets for 6 days straight, and I lived on guacamole and chips. I love food, and have been all over (I'm a travel agent), and have never had food as bad as this. I understand it's the same food at every resort on the Mayan Riviera...which is a shame, because other than that, we loved the place and would love to go back. The only decent meal was at the steakhouse, and even that was not even comparable to Ruths Chris, or even Outback! The desserts are ok, and the paella lunch by the beach (once a week) was really good. Other than that, the food borders on inedible.
Hope this info helps!
