Just returned from the Iberostar Paraiso Maya any questions? |
|
Beautiful resort. But very very large so be prepared to do a LOT OF WALKING or waiting for golf carts to take you around. We stayed in building #60 which was closest to the beach and buffet restaurants and farthest from the lobby with a private pool. We had a partial ocean view facing the jungle and our rooms were very quiet. I had the chance to see both Presidential rooms which were in our building. These rooms are absolutely beautiful and very large with a living room, dining area, very large bedroom, 2 bathrooms one which was very luxurious and kitchenette. There were 2 balconies facing the ocean, 1 off the living area that was huge with comfortable furniture and a large jacuzzi the other off the bedroom. They were not ready for occupancy yet but I asked the price and was told about $300 U.S. per person per night over and above the rate of the junior suite rate. The Iberostar Paraiso resorts are approximately 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen and 30 minutes from Cancun. We did not take a collectivo because I found due to the area of the resort it was not convenient and did not want to stand by the busy highway in the middle of no where. We did take advantage of the Iberobus that took you to Playa del Carmen free of charge. If you take a taxi to Playa del Carmen it is approximately 180 pesos. There are rates of taxis posted at the lobby in the Lindo. To Cancun it was between 300 and 340 pesos. We asked our Signature rep about renting a car and she did not reccommend it due to many accidents that have happend. I just got the feeling that this was not the only reason not to rent a car but did not pursue it further. If there is anything else you would like to know please feel free to ask. Hi there, my wife and I are about to book the Maya for a trip in May. We are planning on bringing our son, who will be 16 months old, with us. Quick question - did you see any infants around his age in the kiddie pool, or in any pool? I wasn't sure if there was an age limit. not that he's a swimmer...obviously, but we thought he'd have fun standing in the water and doing a little splashing. thanks! Report as inappropriate

we saw lots of little tots in the pool. wish we would have brought our 3 & 4 year old. We saw even smaller babies then yours. You'll have a wonderful time! Report as inappropriate

Amen - I see you booked your trip for May. Can I ask when you'll be going? I'm asking because my boyfriend and I will be staying at the Iberostar Del Mar from May 25 to June 4th. Report as inappropriate

amen: I'd recommend packing an inexpensive inflatable baby float for your 16 month old. The kind that have leg holes for the baby to sit in. I bet your child will love floating around in the pool and the lazy river in a float! You can blow it up when you arrive and leave it when checking out. Report as inappropriate
