cant wait to see all of the hard working employees of the Royal playa del carmen.. beautiful people inside and out! Prude is my favourite waitress of all times.. but seriously all of the workers work so hard and deserve a lot of recognition

We're going for our first visit in september. Just wondering, since youve been a few times, should i still take lots of toiletries and suncream because a few of the posts say you get lots in your room? The posts we have been reading are fantastic so really looking forward to going. Loved 5th avenue when we went for a few days last year when we stayed in riviera maya

They basically cover all the toiletries in your room..........shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, mouthwash, hand sanitizer, soap........tooth paste and toothbush & razor...those are pretty basic though....even a sewing kit!, Bring LOTS if sunscreen from home as it is VERY expensive to buy in Playa. You will love RPDC just as Scott says. The staff there is a step above the rest. You will find they can't do enough for you. Enjoy your vacation!

They have a suncare specialist on site certain days-- the products are all natural ingredients -- we love it.. but a bit pricey! :)

What re the best things todo in Playa Del Carmen? Any tips re restaurants and bars appreciated. Not that we think we'll leave the rewsort much.

We have been looking at the resort map to plan what room we'd like. Does anyone know what it means when there are two colours on a room?

Not certain but I think the two colors indicate "partial" ocean view since it's half garden view half oceanview. When we were there in 2011 we had an oceanview suite (#387) and it was amazing, although I agree with other reviews that any suite would be fine.

The restaurants on the resort are so good that we didn't even think about eating at any restaurant on 5th ave, but this time we may drop in on one for a drink.

I agree with Scott about the sunscreen that is sold at the resort it's a little pricey but we also bought it and it was very good especially the after sun aloe lotion.

We are returning in two weeks and can't wait to go back!!! This time we are going to split our time between the RPDC and Royal Cancun....the countdown is on!!!!
