You will be so happy with your pictures! Peter is truly an artist and really cares about his work. He's a perfectionist and has so much passion for photography. We recommened him to our friends and they were thrilled with their pictures too. We did not have to pay for any of his travel arrangements. I hope he is available for your wedding!

hi - i know this is an old posting as you're almost on your 1st anniversary!

We are considering Shangri-la Caribe for our 2008 Jan wedding and i'm curious as to how you booked the accomodation? Did you go through a travel agent for flights/hotel or did you book directly?

Also, does the hotel have a shuttle service?

And my final question if i may, did they have locations for you to choose that were outdoor for the reception or was it all inside the restaurant? oops, one more - since it's all inclusive - was it the same dinner as you had normally or did you pay a premium for something special.

Hi. I stayed at Shangri La Caribe in September, but we decided NOT to renew our wedding vows there, so I cannot answer your questions about that.

But...we did have a WONDERFUL time at this resort and I would highly recommend it! We booked the hotel directly. You can do this either through their website at www.shangrilacaribe.net, through their management company Turquoise Reef at their website www.mexicoholiday.com, or through another website at www . playa . info. We then purchased our airfare on our own. We did not use a Travel agent at all. I'm not sure if they offer shuttle service or not? We rented a car for the week at the Cancun airport.

We too are looking into a Wedding at Shangri-La Caribe in Jan/Feb 2008 and we have many of the same questions that you do, em111. We've heard so many great things and are very excited to go ASAP but it's still a year away! I'm not sure how to directly send you a message em111, but I'm sure the research we've both done would come in handy to each other. I've found a lot of info on everything from the Wedding, the reception, local tours, and tips on many other things. Misters, if you have any other info for em111 and myself it would be greatly appreciated. Things such as money saving tips you discovered after going, why you choose S-L C over having your wedding somewhere else nearby (just b/c you stayed there?), any fun things to do like tours, etc. A list of "insider " type tips would be sooo helpful and I'd be very thankful.

Sorry, we are not getting married at the Shangri-la but if you guys are looking for a photographer, peter van de maele is great!!! We are very impressed with his talent and booked him for our wedding at AZUL in puerto morales.
