I would love to see photos, if you have them. I *may* be renewing my vows there this September. The prices they are quoting me to just renew my vows are high, so I'm still checking out other options. Either way, I'm definitely staying there for the first time this year.

I saw your wedding pics and they're great. Just curious why you choose shangri-la caribe over all the other resorts? I'm thinking about having my wedding down there and would love to hear your thoughts.

I guess it depends on your preference and the way you like to travel. We typically don't like all inclusive resorts. We prefer quieter, peaceful areas.

The Shangri-la hosts only one wedding per week and it's a small resort, so you get a great sense of privacy. Some of the bigger resorts have weddings every hour, which just isn't for us. The wedding coordinator, Christine, is fantastic and truly helped to keep our wedding unique, with our own special touches. Christine was with us every step of the way.

Because there are only about 100 rooms and 65 wedding guests, it was very easy to stay connected to the group. We could always find our friends and family, so we were able to spend a lot of quality time together before and after the wedding.

The rates are also very reasonable and include a great breakfast and dinner, which kept the costs down for our guests (we were there off season too). Plus a very cheap happy hour...

It was a very special event. I would recommend it to anyone. Everyone has a fantastic time.

We had a cocktail hour with appetizers and drinks by the pool and then a sit down dinner in the Aventura Restaurant, which was private just for our wedding guests. We also hired a band and had a private area for dancing. You can also choose to have a buffet, if you want. Hi Misters, Congratulations your pictures are amazing! I'm getting married at Royal Hideway, PDC and checked your photographer's web site and that's exactly what I'm looking for. I've meet with severals photographers in my scouting trip to playa but didn't feel right so my fiance and I were thinking to bring our photographer from the states, since photography has become a very important part of our lives..anyway my question is: did you paid for his travel expenses besides the package price? Already send an e-mail to Peter but have not answered yet.
