Family Hotel Recommendation, Mexico (Yucatan, Riviera) need

Hi,

We are planing to travel with small kids -- 3, 5, and 7.

This is our first trip to Mexico. Prior to that, since the kids

were born, we've done Dominican Republic, sticking to Iberostar

Resort.

Naturally, our choice for a trip to Mexico was another Iberostar,

Tucan,

a highly regarded kids frienly place.

The trouble is, we are would prefer to stay in a 1 -bedroom hotel

room,

rather then a junior suit, so that the kids would be in a separate

room

with a door :-)

Does anyone know of any good family friendly resorts in this area, on

par with Tucan in terms of quality and kids friendliness, who have

this type of accomodations?

Thanks,

south lyon mi

My family with kids almost the exact ages of yours went to crown paradise club in July. I can say it was areal good value And my kids had an awesome time and they have stayed at very fancy diney resorts before but think nothing compares to how much fun we had at the cpc. There was always something to do and the views are great . Every room has an ocean view. The rooms can be new or old depending which tower you stay in. The kids club is great they have there own water park in the resort. Even wiyh all of those positive things to say I would spend a little more money next time and stay somwhere else abit nicer. I hope you have a great time.

Hi,

I am very interested to know more about the CP--

I really liked the look and options for a family of five

How was the water very rough?

I heard the old part was terrible?

Hello: we stayed at the Crown Paradise Club last February. The standard rooms are quite small and the Crown Club Rooms are for adults only. The water is very rough and we had red flags every day. I did not see a lifeguard on the beach the whole week we were there, so be very careful. There is a kids club, but our friends kids did not enjoy it. Instead they hung around the shallow pool and painted pottery. Beware of bumping though as this hotel is infamous for it. We flew WestJet out of Winnipeg and the 20 or people on our flight that were booked into the CP were bumped to the Sheraton and bussed back each day for meals. It was just awful. We fought for the CC room that we booked and made a lot of noise until they gave in. We met a lot of people that week that were either bussing back and forth or for one wedding party, two people who had just met one another ended up having to stay together in a standard room. Each had booked their own rooms and no refund was provided and no other rooms were available, so these poor people had to make the best of it and bunk together for the week. I would not go back to the Crown Paradise as there are much better hotels out there for children. Try to look for something in the Mayan. It's quieter, ocean is calmer and the beaches are fabulous and in line with that of Cancun. Best to you, s
