This will be our first time down there, all the restaurants say "Proper Dress Required" but none of them really say what that is, Can anyone offer me some info about the resort restaurants attire? I have heard that nice shorts were ok, and that Khakis were good as well. Is that true?

Also which restaurants are the best? I heard that the Japanese was fun with them cooking at the table?

My family and i will be staying at the iberostar paraiso beach for 8 days thanksgiving week. Cannot wait!!!! As far as the attire, i was told that the men need to wear long pants for the Restaurants. I do no a couple that went 2 years ago with there 2 girls and they just loved it. Bring comfy shoes because there is alot of walking! They didn't mind the walking at all because the grounds are BEAUTIFUL!! Do you have any children that are going?? I have 2 and they cannot wait!! I'd love to get your feedback on the resort when you get back!!! Also, will you be staying in a Jr. suite? I heard the rooms are very clean and beautiful. I was also told to tip the workers if you want, because they work VERY HARD at least 6 days a week. Any other questions, feel free to ask and i can call my friends . Have a blast!!

Hi Snow and Renee and everyone else! You will love the Iberostar Beach and its sister property the Del Mar. I was at the Lindo in April and going back in 59 days to the Tucan for 3 nights and Lindo for 4. I stayed at the Del Mar in 2001 and have to tell you all the DelMar and Beach are great!

The dress code for men is long pants in the ala carte resturants. They are airconditioned so you won't mind.

Loved the Meditaranian and Brazilian and revisited them both when I was there in April! Still love them and going to try to visit them when I go in December.

The pool at the Beach/ Del Mar is AWESOME!

Snow I am jelous you are going in 2 short weeks! I have 59 more days for my trip!

I cannot wait. Iberostar does a great job!

all the best,

baltobabe/mt

At the Beach / Del Mar - men need long trousers (khakis) for dinner at the ala cartes. The buffets are a bit more relaxed. The Japanese was great - the sushi there was outstanding. The brazilian was also fantastic - but there is SO MUCH food ... be careful not to eat too much too quickly or you will miss out on all the "rounds" of meat they deliver! We have NO complaints only praise for Iberostar Resorts. Only "words of wisdon" ... it is a LONG drive from the airport to the resort; get a direct transfer if you can - we wasted 1.5 hrs on the shuttle stopping to drop off at 2 resorts on the way. Also, it costs $20 taxi to Playa Del Carmen; plan wisely! We got restless as it rained a couple of times while we were there so we did not feel like waiting around for the shuttle bus!
