Passports Needed?

Can't you still travel using a birth certificate until December 2006?? I've heard mixed stories. We'd be flying out of PA .......

Yes, birth certificate and photo id can still be used. A friend was there about two weeks ago and used that instead of a passport.

Yes, it is ok until the end of the year but make sure your PA Birth Certificates are the yellow type, Ceritified Copy, with the raised seal.If you were born after 1976 it will be.

The U.S. is not requiring passports for re-entry from Mexico to the U.S. until January 1st, 2007.

Just got back and it was announced on the plane that in 2007 passports will be required for everywhere out of the country.

Well I wasn't aware that that would be true for everywhere, as you say, but folks may want to keep in mind that these are U.S. requirements for re-entry, not other coutries upping their requirements. You occasionally hear a grumbling sort of comment that seems to imply that the Mexican government, for example, is requiring something new. That is not the case at all: these are changes being implemented by the U.S. government in the wake of 9/11.

Just for the record!
