My wife and I (empty nesters) will be there Jan 21-28. Our first time in Mexico. The resort sounds nice. I like the fact that you can snorkel right off the beach. Don't forget to sign up for the VIP program.

Im hearing that if you sign up for the VIP program you get harrassed by people trying to sell you time shares or something similar to that for the entire time your there?? Where do you go to sign up for the VIP?

Go to the Sandos Hotels home page. Click on Sandos4U. Fill out and send an electronic short form and they will send you an acknowledgment email with a "VIP" card you should print off and carry it with you to the hotel. Show it at check in for your perks. As for the time share jerks, I hear they will hit on all guests equally. Like Nancy Reagan said "just say no"

My wife and I went down last January and stayed at the Select Club within the Caracol. We had a great time and would like to return this winter. They did not have the VIP club when we went before so i am just curious about the benefits of joining.

I keep hearing people talking about a remodel going on at this resort,we just booked for January also,does anyone know anything about this?

The Sandos Playacar has been having some remodeling. It is south of PDC. The Sandos Caracol has no construction. It is north of PDC.
