Can any one give me some advice on what are the most important items to pack to go to Mexico. What have they found invaluable at an all incusive hotel?

Thanks

Anyone going to the Riu Tequila on 23 Sept

the above mentioned toiltries (esp the immodium) and ..............

The Bubba Keg (or a similar insulated mug). It is great for groups as you can get a bunch of your fave drink and pour it from the Bubba Keg instead of making tons of trips to the bar.

One word -- Dramamine. Especially if you plan to take a trimaran to the Palancar Reef to snorkel. Please trust me on this ... Dramamine does not work nearly as well if taken AFTER you become seasick as it does if taken BEFORE you become seasick. Even if you don't think you are the "seasick type" (as I did not) ... honestly, better safe than sorry.

Hi Reddy blue...I print this list each and every trip and haven't missed yet by following it...

The amound of clothes I bring is not very much...mix and matching is my motto and COMFY SHOES!! A must!!

Here goes the list...

...PLANE TICKETS! Picture id!

Beach towels

Swimsuit & Cover-ups

Beach bag...

Flip flops/aqua socks

Sun dresses & Sandals

Sunglasses & Case

Baseball cap/visor

Shorts & T-shirts etc..socks, tenners

Ziploc baggie for camera on beach & mark w/ a sharpie your room # on it....

Disposable Cameras or Digital (sticks, batteries etc )

1 aqua camera

Hydrocortisone cream,Aspirin ...sinus tabs etc

Pepto Bismal & Rolaids or any other medicines?

Handi wipes

SKIPBO (yes, sometimes it rains and we play for hours!) fun!

Snacks ...sometimes I need a "fix" while at the airport or on the plane...or at 3:00 a.m. after coming in from the bars...lol....

Books, magazines & more books and magazines! Love to read on the beach!

Sunscreen & Aloe Gel/after sun stuff

MP3 player/headsets..batteries..not for the beach...for the PLANE! : )

Travel Alarm clock

Small calculator...cheapie......came in handy for me.

Binoculars (optional ) fun on the beach....Love to watch the cruise ships pass and the wind kite guys etc....

Cheapie wrist watch..hook it from the beach bag. Never wear it.

Bug dope ...handy on daytrips. Most areas of the resort are sprayed.

Lots of Dollar bills for tipping ....... and five's, tens , Travelers checks

Small Spanish Dictionary. Definetly make an attempt to speak their language.

1 pr of long pants for dinner and short sleeves...for the guys

Insulated travel mug....

Snorkeling stuff!!

Stuff for the maid...

I print a Calendar for the week from my computer..sometimes if you asked me what day of the week it was I could not tell you!! I so lose track of time!! I sadly "x" off each day at the end of the day....

BEFORE I LEAVE!!

Scanned copies of passport, ticket info and emailed to myself alng with our health insurance info. Woudl you believe this came in very handy for us in Punta Cana this past year. They wanted info when we went to the hospital...I logged onto my email address and we printed the cards out for the bookkeeper. I emailed each seperate. They didn't have acess to our passport info.

Make a list for souveniers. otherwise I always tend to forget someone!! Dang...........

I always bring along a great attitude and look forward to hanging out and meeting new people from all over the world!

I mean really bring these:

Health products:

Aspirin / Ibuprofen

Imodium

Peptobismol

Tums

Bacitracin

10% Hydrocortosin cream

Bendryl

Sun products...sun screens

Bandaids

Rx meds in original containers

Feminine products ( you will pay a fortune at the resorts for stuff like this)

Other stuff:

Gallon sized Zip-lok bags

6' electrical extension cord

Bunjii cords or straps for holding together luggage

Travel clock

Luggage locks for locking your luggage in the room

Small container of laundry detergent

Safety pins (if room safe has a key use pin to attach key to inside of mens' swim trunks. They will charge $150 or so for drilling out lock if you lose the key)

Super Glue (for fixing things and closing small cuts on hands and feet)

Men - a few shirts with collars, long slacks, closed toe shoes. Most specialty resturants in the resort will require a dress code for dinner.

Definitely zip lock bags...if you have a wet swim suit to pack, they are great.

Travel size wrinkle release for items that get wrinkled.

bubble wrap for items you bring back that are breakable (ie, vanilla, etc)

if you've packed too much, use the storage bags -- you can get alot of stuff in those things, squeeze out the air, and you're good to go.
