“ Mosquito Blue ”

Heading down to Playa in early Jan for a short "girls only" (mid-30s) weekend. I've read a considerable amount on Mosquito Blue. We are trying to stay away from the big resorts and looking for something in town that is clean and quaint, yet close to the beach. Mosquito Blue has come recommended by several friends, but looking for some more feedback.

Also any suggestions for restaurants, bars, excursions would be great.

mosquito blue is a fantastic hotel. small & very eclectic, located in the heart of PDC on the "strip", 2 blocks from the beach (the only draw back, no beach frontage). Great bars & restaraunts (next door and within 3 blocks). Blue parrot bar & hotel located right down the street on the beach, is the most popular bar.
