Any info/suggestions on the Copacabana you can provide will be appreciated. Will be traveling with 11 yr old, 12 yr old and 17 yr old. Any recommendations for room location? Tour suggestions? Thanks.

my wife & i have stayed at the copacabana a couple of years ago. it is a great resort . very good people working there. food was great. no problems with the revenge.try to stay half way between the beach and the main loby.its a fair walk from the lobby and the beach i think it is bulding 300. lots of activity for the younger ones do to the pool activity people. ie. pool games etc. go into playa for a little more action. the beach is i think the best one around. 2km long . hope this helps . ps there are also lots of activitys at the beach for young & older.

Thanks for the advice. We will definitely go into Playa. We stayed in Playa at the IB Tucan last year but wanted to go a little further south --- beach there was beautiful but very crowded. I passed the info on to the kids and they are thrilled. They did not want to go to a boring place.

We stayed at the Copa last year and absolutely loved it. We're going with 4 or 5 other couples. No kids. We're looking to stay at the Iberostar Tucan this year. How was your experience there? The Copa is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for the Copa input. The IB Tucan was wonderful --- service, rooms, cleanliness, pools and surroundings were beautiful. I would highly recommend the resort to anyone. You can leave the resort and go right and walk to this cute little shopping area or you can take a taxi ($4 US) to

Playa del Carmen (5 mins). The only issues we had which were not a big deal for us were that you people would reserve their poolside chairs by 8am by placing their towel on them. I went in July and the resort was full to capacity. There were always chairs available on the beach. The beach was crowded but beautiful and fun. The waitresses even served cocktails on the beach. There is a great little beach bar also. The lobby bar is a great place to hang out at. The evening shows were okay but geared toward a mixed crowd of adults and children because they ended by 1030 pm. Even though the Tucan is a large resort with 1/2 being the Tucan and the other half being the Quezatal side we never felt rushed, crowded in or smothered by other people. We always felt relaxed and cofmortable. If you plan on going to the specialty restaurants you need to reserve them as soon as you arrive because they book up fast. Enjoy your trip!
