just arrived from Grand Coco Bay, any questions?

We were a family of four at this resort, had a blast. We think this place was great, nice and compact, easy to get around. the beach was beautiful, we thought the food was fine.....ate at both Italian and Mexican restaurent, prefered the Italian but both fine. The staff were eager to please. Check in was easy. The rooms were great size and always clean, never saw bugs. I would love to answer any questions. You will really enjoy it here.

Kerriann, hi just noticed your question.....You will like Grand Coco Bay as it is a smaller resort, easier to get around the resort. The staff were excellent with both adults and children. Tell your girls YES they can have smoothies anytime they want and as many as they want......The strawberry daquaries(no alcohol) were my favourite.....my daughter even tried pina colada's no alcolhol.....they will make whatever you want.....The girls will love the mini disco at 8pm(not on Sunday's)......even the shows after that are fun to watch(the Mayan show was impressive)......feel free to ask any more questions.....

Thanks, Pastywhite! I have read all of your great posts.

I would like to contact the hotel ahead of time to request a room close to yours - it sounds like it was a good location. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Did you get a lot of noise from the bar downstairs?

Also -- why wouldn't bottled water be free if the resort is all-inclusive? That seems odd.

Did you talk to anybody that took any other excursions that the Xel-Ha or Xcaret? I was looking at possibly going to Isle Mejures (Island of women).

HI there, I never ended up contacting the resort for a room request. I was planning on phoning directly and speaking to Manager Alphonso.(you get phone number from their website).....Our room number being 2241 was fine for us......We were a short walk from the main lobby area...and bar area....now we did face palm trees and the bridge/ramp walkway (fun to people watch).....if you stand then you see the view of the pool and partial ocean......We only heard the noise when sitting on our balcony.......but once behind the closed doors in our room(we did also have a sound machine)....we were fine.......you go to bed so tired after a full day doesn't take long to sleep......

As far as the water.....yes it is odd that they don't provide bottled water but at all the bars, you can fill any container with their filltered water, this is what we did.....(so bring an insulated mug with you).we only purchased a few bottles from the gift shop to take with us on excursions...... As far as excursions, one that we did not do that a few really enjoyed was a ferry ride to Cozumel......one group had rented a car for the day and toured the entire island.......while another couple went for the ferry ride and did some shopping and enjoyed the beaches......

We rented a car and drove to Tulum to see the ruins, enjoyed the beach there for a bit then drove to Akumal beach and spent afternoon......great snorkling there....(I think that is where we will go next, in Akumal).........

Hello patsywhite, I am staying at Grand Coco April 9th. Do they have bottled water and beer in the gift shop? I am sure I can buy it in Playa at a pharmacia but would be nice to have it right there.

janilu, I know for sure they had bottled water at the gift shop, I totally don't remember about beer....as I enjoyed their corona at our disposal right in front of the gift shop(the bar).....We would fill our bubba Keg with it......You will have a great time, I'm so jealous.....

Do they only have Corona? I am a beer drinker and Corona is the only one I do not like :( Do they have Sol or Modelo? Tecate would be really nice!

The best thing we brought with us to the Lindo was our Bubba Kegs. They fill them to the top with no problems and they will keep your drinks colf or frozen for hours. I prefer the 34 oz. Bubba Keg. If you don't bring your own mug, htey will just give you a 10 oz. cup. I They are hard to find, so I found mine on Ebay and they are not a bad price at all. Just type Bubba Keg in hte search bar and you will find them in all colors. Trust me, you will LOVE your Bubba Keg if you use it on your All-Inclusive vacation!
