 Family of 5 needs hotel

I am looking for an all inclusive for a family with 3 children, 16, 13 and 4 years old. We stayed in PV last year and had a room with bunk beds. Any leads would be very appreciated.

Haven't found and AI that has that , we're are staying at the Iberostar Tucan and need two rooms. We have to reserve it with an adult in each room though. That is how we needed to booked it. But as we have a 16 yr old we feel it will be oK! We will be across the hall from each other or next door. The boys will have one room and Mom and Dad the other. They are old enough for this so we are good to go! You seem to be old enough too with a 16 yr old?

I believe Mexico has a fire code law that only 4 people can be in a room. We had the same problem a few years ago when looking into Mexican travel trips. We ended up in Ixtapa that year but needed 2 rooms. They were adjoining though. When I had inquired about places where 5 could stay in 1 room, I was told it was not possible. But since you were able to do that in PV, I'm puzzled.

We're a family of 5 (kids are 5, 7, and 9) and are staying all in one room at the Grand Sirenis in Akumal next week. It is an all-inclusive. Our room will have 2 double beds and a pull-out couch (all of the rooms are that size, but some have a king and a couch). It was no problem booking our room online. Watch for my review in a couple of weeks--hopefully it will be a great one!

I've read on here many times that families of five can be accomodated at the Sandos Playacar (used to be the Gala .) They have haciendas that are large enough, with a pull out couch. Check them out. Otherwise you may have to book two rooms!!!.........K.

I do not believe there is any such fire code prohibition on 5 guests in a room, as opposed to 4. Have never heard of anything like that.

Hotels have good business reasons (and good reasons not having anything to do with spring breakers) for putting an upper limit on the number of guests in a given room, just as they have for establishing what occupancy the room rate will be based on, what the addiitonal guest charges will be, and so forth.

You may want to check more carefully and see if a given property advertising a regular maximum of 4 in a room won't accept 5 in a case such as yours, with a very young child, if in fact that limit becomes an issue for you.

I believe Grand Palladium can accomodate five and I may be mistaken but I booked a trip last year for a family of five to Barcelo Tropical and I'm fairly certain I was able to get them all in one room. Call your travel agent...they are good for this type of info.

We are also staying at the Grand Sirenis 4/10-4/16. We have three children who are 9,12,&14. You can book at the Crown Paradise if you have 3 children that are younger than 12, but have to use the available bedding. We stayed there 3 years ago , but have heard it went down hill after change of ownership. We were going to stay at the Great Parnassus, but there were still things not completed, so we switched to the Sirenis. These are the only three I know where you can stay with all in one room unless it is a villa.

We too have a family of 5. Many hotels do indeed tell you due to "fire code regulations", the maximum is 4 in a room - no matter what the ages are. In Cancun - we have stayed at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach (no problem) and the RIU Cancun (an all inclusive). The RIU operators are not aware of this - but we had a suite there that had a connecting bedroom with 2 beds. However, you can only get to that connecting room thru your bedroom which contains the only bathroom. But, it was pefect for our family of 5. When we went to Playa del Carmen (with kids), we did stay at the Riu Yucatan - and they gave us a good deal on 2 adjoining rooms. But, the prices have risen at the RIU. We just got back from Los Cabos - where we (5) rented a condo time share which was outstanding.

The Sandos Playacar will accomodate 5 in a room. We stayed there and the beach is awesome. We just returned from the Iberostar Lindo and although you couldn't have everyone in the same room your teens would love this place. It is a more upscale resort than the Sandos property but not right on the beach. The beach is almost as nice and there are a ton of kids, especially teens at the IB Lindo or at least there were when we went.
