I know this resort is not right on the beach but how far away is it/ Can you walk it? If not how long is the shuttle ride? Can you go and spend the whole day at another RIU and how close are they? Report as inappropriate |

I have never stayed at the Lupita, but yes you can spend the whole day at the RIU Playacar and the RIU Yucatan. Eat, drink, swim and spend the day at the beach. I do know that the Lupita is a little bit down the street from the other hotels. The only thing, I believe is you have to east dinner (supper) at your own hotel. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

I don't have an exact answer for you but my estimate to the beach would be 20 min because the golf course is in between and the road is not a straight line from the Lupita to the beach John Report as inappropriate | ||||||

It's not far. The RIU Tequila is located across the street from the RIU Playacar and Yucatan. You can walk across the street and through the resort to the beach or take the shuttle down the walkway (maybe 5 min. tops). You can spend all day at one of the other RIUs (except for the Palaces) but for dinner, you have to eat at your own resort. I think that cutting through the resort is the quickest way, myself. I am a huge RIU fan (stayed at two RIU's in Mexico-RIU Cancun, Riu Palace Cabo San Lucus and in May 2007 will stay at Riu Jalisco in Puerto Vallarta) but have not stayed at this hotel before. After reading RIU's website regarding this hotel. the website states that the beach is 2.1 miles away from the hotel. They do provide a complimentary shuttle to and from the beach.
