Iberostar Paraiso beach beach area |
|
Now I am getting worried. REading many complaints about the beach here--strong rip tides, water not clear, lots of red flag days. The reports of it being a little rocky are not a problem, but I am concerned about my kids 10 and 12 going in the water since I thought it was a little rough last year at the Quetzal-- When I first looked into this resort I heard all good reports on the beach--even heard you can feed many tropical fish by the pier. Can anyone clear this up? Maybe the weather has been a little rougher lately- Thanks Report as inappropriate |

We were at the Iberostar Tucan two years ago and the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar last year. The beach at the Paraiso is much larger than the beach at the Tucan, there were a few rocks in the water but we had fewer red flag days at the Paraiso. The under tow didn't seem any worse from one place to the other. Mind you, it's still strong enough to knock you off your feet and pull you out if you are not paying attention. The lifeguards at the Paraiso seemed to pay closer attention to the people on the beach, they will whistle you in if they feel you are going out to deep for conditions. We did see two people at the Paraiso get pulled in by the lifeguards on a red flag day, at the Tucan, two of my sisters had to be rescued after they floated out on some blow up water toys and were holding on to the rope for dear life (sisters are in their 40's and 50's, they should have known better) I don't think you'll have to much to worry about.Enjoy your vacation! Thank you for the info. Which resort did you like better? Report as inappropriate

also, if you stay at the Paraiso, can you get drinks and use the pool at the Lindo? I know the restaurants are off limits. 8yr old daughter wants to go wave pool at Lindo. Report as inappropriate

The official word from the resort is that you cannot use the pools at the Lindo, but I have heard from a few people that no one stops you. I think it is wise to hope to use them but not expect to! Someone we know personally was at the beach side last spring and his kids used the wave pool and lazy river every day, they were never kicked out. Report as inappropriate
