I hate drinking cocktails out of plastic - some tropical hotel bars don't serve cocktails in glasses, especially near the beach. For instance, i want to drink a martini out of a martini glass. I want to drink every kind of drink out of a glass, not out of plastic. Does the Shangri-la Caribe serve their drinks in glass or plastic? Also: - what is the actual condition of the Caribe's beach NOW? As beautiful and wide as the photos on their web site? or not? - do the beachfront bungalows on the quieter Caribe side have air conditioning now or not? - can you request a specific bungalow when making your reservation? or do you get whichever one they have available when you show up? - for a hotel that charges $250-$300 for a beachfront bungalow, the beds sound awful from the reviews. Bring your own glass if you must. Beach looks fine All rooms have air conditioning now A request can be made, it is not always possible to get what you ask for Most beds in Meican resorts are firm, if you don't like that you may want to buy or bring an egg crate type pad. We just returned from Shangri La. We had a great time. The drinks in the restaurants and the bar were in glass. The beach is the best. All the rooms have AC. We requested second floor in the Playa Aventura area and got it. Our bed was good; the mattress was firm but there was a soft pad on it and we slept like babies. Report as inappropriate | ||||||
