We returned February 3rd from the maya. While we were there the beach from maya to playa were pretty much washed out to sea. Yes they were busing people to a public beach. I don't know where, we didn't bother to go. I would recommend looking further south of the Maya. The beach that direction seemed to be in better shape as well as the resorts. I hope you can change resorts. You will probably be much happier if you can. You can read my review on this place at the hotel link.

That's too bad. I have stayed at that resort and always felt it was underrated. It used to have such a great beach/atmosphere.
