Is Calle 66 near the Merida English Library a good location for a house rental? It seems to be pretty central. Thanks for your insight. bozrah

Sure, that's a great place to rent a house. You'll be within walking distance of the Plaza Grande (the center of town) as well as Paseo Montejo (which starts at Calle 47....the Library is at Calle 53). The only drawback might be that if you have a car, you may occasionally have to park a block or two away.

I agree with YucatanLiving. Calle 66 is a good central location. There is a nice mix of Mexican and American and Canadians living there. Several restaurants in the area. Parking is a hassle, but you can rent a space for a small sum in one of the local parking lots. The gand plaza is an easy walk. There are two local markets within walking distance or a very, very short car ride.

Thanks for the info- we won't have a car- we love the variety and economy of public transportation in Mexico. bozrah
