I'm leaving for Isla on Wednesday, so will know more when I get back next week. But, from all I've read,the beach is pretty much gone in front of Na Balaam. Even at its best, Na Balaam was perceived as pricy for what you get. Without a good beach, it certainly wouldn't be my choice.

I'm staying at Media Luna, which is around the corner from Na Balaam. It's been several years since I stayed there, will let you know when I return how it was. I understand there is major construction a short ways down the beach from there.

We are going to stay there in April. We chose this hotel for its location near the beach and price, about half the cost of NaBalam. We have not stayed there before but did walk through the place nour lst trip and decided to try it on our next visit. You don't say when you are going. If it is after April I will put up a trip report.

We stayed at Nabalam about 2 years ago. Since then the prices have gone way up and yes, the beach is about gone. Was just on the island about a month ago. The erosion is terrible. I would guesstimate that Nabalam has lost over half their beach, if not more. Would I stay there again--not for the prices they charge now. The rooms are nothing special. Stayed at Media luna before and thought it was fine. Not sure about the construction noise.

We've stayed on Isla several times, first time at Media Luna which is really nice, last two times (and this coming May) we stayed at Cabanas Maria del Mar, which is only a block or less away from the Na Balam. The least expensive rooms are the ground floor cabana rooms, in the garden area near the pool. Nice, quite, A/C, fridge, etc. They have three types of rooms.
