Advice on diving/snorkelling

Hello! I am going to Isla with my boyfriend Jan 4-9. I have a dilemma though, he is an avid and passionate diver and I am not certified. Does anyone know if the dive shops would do a deal where he dives and I snorkel? What dive sites are the best/ with the most marine life? Which dive shop would you recommend? I'm trying to get this set up for an X-mas present for him. I'll feel terrible if we go to Mexico and he can't dive because I'm not a diver. We aren't comfortable with me spending a day alone. Also, Delfin Dives looks like it has good prices but I can't find an e-mail to ask about the joint snorkel/dive deal. Does anybody have one for them? THank you!

I don't have any diving advice :) But, I can say, that you can spend the day alone without fear. I would kill for a day without my DH to browse the shops on my time, get a manicure, read and veg......:)

I don't dive, but wanted to snorkel last year, so I went out with a boat of divers with Aqua Adventures. I really enjoyed it, but it is pretty deep, so some people don't like that. There are several recommended diving shops - Enrique (sp?) don't know the shop, but anyone on the island can tell you as well as Crystal Divers.

However, my spouse dives and I am frequently alone on Isla - you couldn't ask for a safer place to hang out. There are plenty of places where you can get a massage or just enjoy the beach. No worries - really! :)

Take a look at the top questions on the right hand side. There's one on diving. Hopefully it'll help.
