Hi anybody stayed here? Our apt fell thru for Xmas and we have been offered this place as an alternative, it has a view of the sea and is down on Juarez near La Lomita restuarant.
We are in the same boat our apartment just fell through for February. Can someone who has received pics of the outside/view/balcony forward them to me please. firstname.lastname@example.org
I am waiting for Gladys to respond to our booking request but would love to have the pics
Just sent the pic to your e-mail...
thanks for the pic. I thought it was an ocean view .. or is this the back? lol
Yes, you can shop the Navy store, the Navy base is just up and across the street from Casa Havana, walk through some open gates and the store is to your left.
Very good prices on liquor, I'm not sur eabout beer. I always buy my favorite rum there.
You can get all kind of groceries and snack there, along with just about anything else you can think of.
I have a picture I can send you so you find it easier.
You know I am starting to think that Casa Havana is a little further down Juarez than what I thought.
How far of a walk do you think it is from the center of town. I know we did walk one time to La Lomita but I can't remember how long it took! I thought it was like only a 5 minute walk from the center.
I thought the Navy Base was waaaaaay far down...
I can't think of how long it would be (blocks)though 5 minutes sounds about right. The Navy base is located just before the island narrows and becomes the thin airstrip area . . . it isn't far down on the island. :)
Casa Havana is not very far past La Lomita. And the Navy Store is not that far really, an easy walk from Casa Havana, maybe 2 minutes. Not sure what the walk into Centro is, 10 min. maybe. It is a great neighborhood to stay in, much quieter than in town, IMO. The walking is great exercise, it allows you to enjoy all the wonderful food and drink more, LOL! We have often stayed on the airport strip and walked back and forth a lot.
Thanks guys! I could definately use exercise!
In July and August I wouldn't advise it as it's just too hot and humid to walk that far several times a day (beach, restaurants, etc.) but in December it should be perfect weather for walks.
