I am trying to decide where to stay at the end of August, and the Occidental Grand Cozumel is at a great price right now, under $700 for a deluxe room! Can anyone tell me about this hotel, what the rooms are like, and if there is a mini fridge in the room. Also I heard that there isn't a very good night life here. Any information on this hotel would be great... also how is the beach?

Which is better OGC or BPT?

Yes to mini-fridge. Rooms are spacious, LOVE the shower, beds hard but tolerable. Some shows @ night, more sedate than a party atmosphere. There is a disco, but we've never gone. Beach is beautiful, soft, light sand. We love it. Never been to BPT. Here's link to our last review w/pics.

here is link to more pics from that trip www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html…

Hope it helps, Mo

Hi,

We just got back from the Grand Occidental 2 weeks ago and it was wonderful. Fabulous customer service: they give you champagne when you check in, they are devoted to taking care of every whim you might have.

The grounds are immaculate....they rooms spacious, they have fridges in the rooms, bottled water always in the fridges plus assorted pop and beer. we did the all inclusive and the food was reasonable for an A-I.

Dive Palancar was the dive shop on the premises. We hired a private divemaster each time: karen and juan are great. We also bought a 10 pack of dives for 290.00, saving us $6.00 per dive. The private divemasters cost $35.00 each dive.

I would go back to Grand Occidental any time!

Hope this helps.

Martha
