Well this topic is certainly contentious and I don't live in Cozumel, but I was there last Wed to this Monday and the 3 of us walked out from getting our luggage straight past everyone and walked/rolled luggage up past the guard house on the exit road and caught a cab on 7/26 without any problem. Looked like there were about 3 cabs waiting. Cabbed it back to the airport 2 days ago and looked like there were a few cabs hanging out on road outside the airport when we got dropped off.

Thanks for the post, dkline. The ones who live here, were only trying to say, it can now be a bit difficult to do and we wouldn't really recommend it until the construction is completed. Also, some days can be better than others, depending on what they are doing that day or even at the hour you arrive.

Good up to date information here is valuable to everyone and appreciated. Our only argument is with those who have not visited Cozumel in a long time but post as though they have current knowledge. That is misleading.

Well after 5 pages of replies to my post....

I guess the answer was

1. don't buy the transfers with a package.

2. buy transfers at the transfef booth at the airport

3. Its a pain in the --- to get a cab.
