Just got back from another great trip to cozumel. Left sunday morning out of okc and almost got bumpded from my united flight in okc. They wouldn't assign me a seat till the last minute and then started offering $300 to take different flight. Luckily i got a seat. Got to houston then onto cozumel smoothly. I always get them confused as to which is immigration or customs, but the first part went smooth, but took forever for them to get our bags out and by then another plane landed and it got very congested. Got thru that and got a green light and off i went. Being just me grabbed a ticket for the van and went to hotel cozumel. Great seeing my old freinds at the hotel. Got checked in and headed to ISIS to get my scooter. Margarita was on the mainland for a doctors checkup ( she said everything was good, just needed to exercise- i am going to try to bring her some better walking shoes in sept. ) Got my scooter and went to do my checkout dive. I had flown down with a couple i had met two years ago in coz. from okc who had a place there. Their daughter and finacee and another group joined us later in the week so there was about ten of us. It's great seeing freinds again- we had people from ok, missouri, michigan, washington, florida and virginia The dives were great all week. I had never seen as many turtles as i did this trip. We saw 3-4 turtles on every dive, it was great.
AS far as food goes besides the resort food which is ok for me i ate at Primas at the top of el cantil twice. The first night i went with a local freind and his girlfreind . I had blackened grouper and it was deliciious. The place was empty except for us. Very slow on the island all week with no cruise ships on two days beside sunday. The next night I went to Primas again for a bday party with the group i mentioned. I had my first ribeye steak on the island and it was surprisingly delicious. Had a great time both nights.
Other places i ate were blue angel where i had the bacon wrapped jalepenos and nandos for the bacon wrapped hotdogs, ( I love anything wrapped in bacon-lol). I also love the carne asada tortas at la serenita? i think its called.
The last day i swapped my scooter for a bug from ISIS and drove around the island. Had a great time. Stopped at rasta bar and mezcalitos for a beer and rest in the hammocks.
Had the big storm saturday night- felt like back home with all the thunder and lightning.
Another great trip- let the new countdown begin 88 days to go.
