One day in January

Hi, we will be cruising to Cozumel end of January. We were there last year and went to a beach where we realy enjoyed our day.

This year are plan is to rent two jeeps for are party of 8. We would reserve ahead of time with a majot rental company.

What we would like to know is if this is a good idea considering the damage to the island?

If it is still a good idea we would like tips on where to stop and what to visit. We are open minded and like to visit and have fun. We like beaches , historical sites, shoping, stop for a Margarita and tacos.

If anyone has ideas to fill our only day in Cozumel please answer.

Thanks in advance.

Drinking and driving (unless using a sober driver) is idiotic and can get one or more people killed. It all depends on your schedule. You can get a van to take your group to a beach club and back into town for less than two jeep rentals.

If you end the day in town where you can shop then eat at a local restuarant you only have to get back to your ship.

You could go to San Gervasio then to a beach club then to town depending again upon your schedule and not have to worry about rental issues.

My opinion is that in most cases a taxi van is your better option.

Loghom, you have come to the right place. Your agent was correct that Cozumel was hit hard. However, your agent may not have a clue as to the progress being made to return Cozumel to normalcy.

Here is a link that shows the current/projected status of many facilities on Cozumel. Review it and see if it affects your desired travel dates.

You certainly can change your destination but that decision should be based upon accurate info and not uninformed statements.
