Dear Mrs. R:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Aura Cozumel.

Topless around the pool areas is permitted.

Our Brissas Bar has been designated as a clothing optional area for the guests.

I hope this clarifies your concerns.

Daniel,

I would like to know where it says, parts of the resort are clothing optional and or topless, on your web site!!!! NO WHERE!!! It does not state topless at the pool or Clothing optional at the 3rd floor bar with the Jacuzzis!!!!!!!! I have been to Cozumel many times over the last 20 years...As we are Divers. We were excited to book with your new resort! I am a member of Tripadvisor.com and when I read this news I tried to book the Palace but they are booked full!

I am arriving on Tuesday. Now, I am to understand that for "US" to be comfortable at your resort we cannot use the pools or the 3rd floor bar or Jacuzzis!! We are FULL paying customers and should have been notified before we booked what kind of resort you are offering!

Is there going to be any compensation for "US" not being able to use part of your resort?? We do not wish to see other people naked, or Topless...

I will let others on the Trip Advisor site know of your intentions to make our 7 days there comfortable since we cannot use ALLOT of the facilities and cannot cancel our trip!!!!!

I do not know what all the removed posts were but I am assuming it is someone bashing people who do not want to go "European"... I don't have a problem with others wanting to do thier own thing... it's just not for me! I WOULD have never booked this resort it it had been advertised as such..That is my main problem!! I also should have been notified that it changed to this on 4-4 a week before our trip was to start. I would have had time to change Hotels. I will let you know the follow up!

I booked through Orbitz, It is paid on full. I read up on the group Lifstyles, and they are the original people who started Hedonism.. Like I said, It's just not for me! I do not have any desire to go to a resort of this type.. now it looks like I am stuck in one. Guess, we will just go diving every day and go to town alot at night. It's just a real bummer and we spent alot of money.

As you should easily see I fully support your views on this and am far from done with the issue. I do thank you very, very much for posting your message, and can only say that I am rather disappointed with TA for deleting many of the posts re this issue. Most only took an opposing view to ours, and without opposition it's impossible to hold a useful debate. There were a few slanderous remarks but appoligies were issued re them.

I am far more disappointed with Wyndham on this and will make every effort I can to alert anyone thinking of staying at ANY of their Cozumel sections that they may be in for a surprise. My next post will be on Scubaboard linking them to this message since it has a lot of members who stay at various sections of the Wyndham.

Wouldn't Orbitz be partly responsible and give you a hotel change? I really don't understand that....I've traveled for many years and when the hotel was unacceptable, my tour company, usually Funjet moved me to a different hotel, even after we got there. I've probably had to change about 3 times in all the years of travel...but the fact is, they did it.

I would definitely put pressure on Orbitz.

Cowgirl.....I may be completely ignorant here not being a tourist and never having used anything like Orbitz before........but is there no recourse thru them at all???.......it would seem to me that the property was misrepresented to you-----in your shoes, I would get a supervisor on the phone and see what they can do for you since they surely have access to many other places on the island.

I see that you are considering "braving it out" and if that happens MAYBE this new "feature" won't be discovered by the time you get there......let's hope.

I would also contact your booking agency. You may have to elevate the discussion to several supervisors but I would be surprised if they cannot put you at another nice hotel
