Joe's Jeep Adventures & Dolphin Discovery for Seniors?

We just hit the 6 decade mark and were wondering if we would find these two excursions to be suitable. We're pretty energetic, but don't know if we would want a full day of go-go-go at Joe's. And the Isla Dolphin swim may be something we would have enjoyed doing when we were younger. Not so sure we want to spend the money now. Any thoughts?

I am 25 and if I had it to do over again I would have done an ATV tour instead of Joe's. It just wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. You DON'T go offroading in the jeep and when you are driving it you are pretty much either in town, on the highway or on a country road. So it isn't a bumpy ride. The zip line is pretty tame and the cenote was one of the smallest I have ever seen. I thought it was geared towards families with kids, nothing too dangerous, but still some excitement. I don't think a couple in their sixties would have too much trouble with this one.

remiller...Actually we are taking our 2 sons, who are your age. Do you think they would find Joe's Jeep Adventure to be a little tedious? We were planning on doing the Rancho Loma Bonita ATV Tour...that sounds good, without being too long on one tour.

Yes they probably would find it a little boring. I would have loved Joe's when I was about 12. I've never done an ATV tour in Cancun, but my parents took us on one in Cabo two years ago. My brother and I had a great time on that one. My parents enjoyed it as well and my dad was 57 and my mom 50 at the time.

I'm glad to hear something less than glowing about Joe's Jeep Adventures, because until now posters had just rave on and on. I felt that with nothing but excellent reviews, it was something we absolutely needed to do (although it didn't sound all that thrilling from the website). I agree that it would probably be something fun for families with younger children. We'll spend the $400 on Tulum Xel-Ha instead.

I don't know how much you trust your sons driving, but you could always rent a jeep and drive it yourself. That way you would kind of be doing both tours at once. We did this and were happy because we didn't want to spend an hour and a half at Tulum and weren't rushed when leaving xel-ha. We stopped at the Xu-Pha Palace on the way back to Cancun for dinner and it started pouring down rain while we were eating and of course we hadn't put the top up on the jeep...

That's a very good idea, since we really want to do Xel-Ha/Tulum, but we don't want the public tour.
