Moon Palace - Sunrise or Nizue

My wife and I are staying at the Moon Palace Aug 3rd. We booked our trip through Expedia.com (all inclusive golf plan). The reservation does not tell us which lobby to check in at. How can we find out where you will stay Sunrise or Nizue? Is this random? I read some posts that said it is based where you are from. Can someone please provide an idea of what to expect?

You are going to LOVE the Moon Palace...I (and most American's I presume) prefer the Sunrise side...But you'll love it either way...The Sunrise pool/lobby are newer and bigger - not that the ammenities on the Nizuc side are anything to worry about....You'll have access to all no matter what side you stay on....

Be sure to book your trips early on...

They will invite you to attend a membership presentation...You can politely refuse if you are not interested and they will leave you alone.

If you'd like to learn more (Although I am am a member, I am most definately not a salesperson!) then you can check out the Palace resorts member thread elsewhen in this forum.

Make sure to visit Xel -Ha and/or Xcaret, if you have not already been there. I suggest signing up to swim with the Dolphins at either as soon as you get settled after arrival...

The nice thing about the Moon is the choice of restaurants...which are all included....your ID bracelet will also get you in to all the other Palace Resorts as well to enjoy the pools/spas/ restaurants....

I suggest the Moon Golf Course over Playacar...

ENJOY!

I too prefer the Sunrise side, but I think the assignment is 'somewhat' random. The only time I was assigned to Nizuc was when I booked through Travelocity, and even though they had empty rooms on Sunrise (and the rest of our party, who were members, were on Sunrise) they wouldn't let us move to the other side, even after offering up bribe money (and of course being very happy, smiley, gracious, excited, etc...which didn't work).

I think we will like the Sunrise side of the hotel from the posts that we've read. I was hoping that there was a way that we could ensure a hotel room on the Sunrise side. Also wondering where the best hotel rooms were? How do you get a room facing the ocean?

Getting excited!!! Hope we have great weather!

The best way to ensure an oceanfront room is to buy a Presidential Suite week from a Palace Resort member on Ebay...The Pres Suites all face the ocean...

You should be able to call the Palace Resorts based in Miami and ask them. That is how we found out that we are staying on the Sunrise side while my brother in law is staying on the nizuc side. You can request what you want with no guarentee.(sp?)
