Review of baby club at Crown Paradise Club

My husband and I are staying at the CPC with our then 19 month-old son in 2 weeks' time. We have booked the CPC specifically because of the baby club, which will allow hubby and I a couple of hours to take in some sights not appropriate to my son's age, or a romantic dinner, etc.

Although I've seen many reviews (all good) for the kid's club at CPC, I've seen none specifically for the baby's club. Can anyone here give me some feedback based on first-hand experience? Specifically ... are these clubs staffed by locals, what kind of activities do they do with the little ones, what happens at lunchtime and how do I ensure the safety of my son in terms of water and fruit.

Any other tips from those who have travelled with a toddler will also be welcomed.

I have not stayed at this resort as of yet, but I'll offer up some general tips. We went to the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar in Dec. w/our then 4 & 6 yo. We looked at the schedule of events each day, and then had the kids pick a time that they wanted to goto the kids club. Even at 4 & 6, we were still always sure to pick our kids back up before swimming time. No matter the place, I just don't feel comfortable having anybody with a large group of kids being responsible for my children in water. We live on a lake, and my kids are in the water every day in the summer, but until I gain more confidence in their abilitities, I'll still be standing by that rule. As far as on land time, the Mexican people in general hold children in such high regard, that I can't imagine you have anything to worry about with having your little one spend some time in there. Tips for travelling with a toddler, make sure you bring floaties, and swim jackets that will be comfortable for them to swim in the pool all day in, the ones by speedo are great. You of course will still need to be right by your child all day, but you will at least be able to have your hands free. Bring tons of coloring books and markers(crayons would probably melt in the heat), and other activities for them to do while sitting in the shade and to keep them entertained on the plane. One thing that I found worked great for my kids at that age, was buying a new play dough set. That would keep them entertained for about an hour on the plane, then they would generally sleep the rest of the way. Just make sure that he/she gets pllenty of shade throughout the day, and lots and lots of water!! Have a great trip!!

I am wondering how the baby club was. We are going in January 2007 and I have the same questions you had, I would appreciate any information you could give me about the baby club as well as tips on travelling with a toddler. Thanks

I want to revive this post. We are debating going to Cancun or Cozumel in March, and would like to know more about the baby club at the CPC. Any previous posters to comment?

Thanks
