I have not stayed at this resort as of yet, but I'll offer up some general tips. We went to the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar in Dec. w/our then 4 & 6 yo. We looked at the schedule of events each day, and then had the kids pick a time that they wanted to goto the kids club. Even at 4 & 6, we were still always sure to pick our kids back up before swimming time. No matter the place, I just don't feel comfortable having anybody with a large group of kids being responsible for my children in water. We live on a lake, and my kids are in the water every day in the summer, but until I gain more confidence in their abilitities, I'll still be standing by that rule. As far as on land time, the Mexican people in general hold children in such high regard, that I can't imagine you have anything to worry about with having your little one spend some time in there. Tips for travelling with a toddler, make sure you bring floaties, and swim jackets that will be comfortable for them to swim in the pool all day in, the ones by speedo are great. You of course will still need to be right by your child all day, but you will at least be able to have your hands free. Bring tons of coloring books and markers(crayons would probably melt in the heat), and other activities for them to do while sitting in the shade and to keep them entertained on the plane. One thing that I found worked great for my kids at that age, was buying a new play dough set. That would keep them entertained for about an hour on the plane, then they would generally sleep the rest of the way. Just make sure that he/she gets pllenty of shade throughout the day, and lots and lots of water!! Have a great trip!!
