Cancun Forum: Omni Beach? Casa magna?

Scott87...We stayed at the Omni for two weeks from 03/08-03/22. Oddly enough, there was only a beach at this resort for four days of our stay (Saturdays and Sundays). The rest of the time, there were so many rocks, one could not enter or exit the water safely. The lifeguard would not allow anyone to enter the water while the rocks were showing, which was most of the time. People from the Omni would walk down to the beach to the Oasis Cancun where they could swim w/o all those rocks. My husband would walk the beach daily past the Marriott and said the beach was MUCH better there. I guess it depends on whether of not you are a person who likes to swim in the ocean.

We are going to the Omni 4/20, I sure hope the beach is back. I don't like to swim, I just like to wade in and get 1/2 wet. Is that going to be a problem?

so was there enough beach to walk on?

Scott87...I should probably clarify my last post. There were palapas and plenty of room to lounge by the beach, there just was no way to enter the water because of all the rocks. We did stay on the beach everyday, but if you're looking to go in and swim, you will be disappointed. There was room to still walk the beach every day. They still serve drinks and lunch on the beach.
