 Flamingo Resort, Cancun

My Husband and I are planning a four day trip to just relax in April 2007. We have reservations at the Flamingo Resort , All inclusive. Is there anything we need to know, never been to Cancun before. What is the best way to call back to the U.S.? Is it ok to drink the water? Thank you for any info you can give me about this resort.

We are also planning a stay at the Flamingo at the end of May. The Flamingo appears to be in an excellent location, close to all the action. We have found that it is very expensive to call back to the U.S. Last May, a seven minute call from the Hotel room which we charged to our Visa had an approximate cost of $63.00. We always consume bottled water ONLY in Cancun. Make sure to take lots of sunblock. We tan for a month before we go and still use at least a 40 spf. Enjoy your trip. I'll watch for your review when you return!!!

You can get a Ladatel phone card in Cancun and use that at any pay phone marked Ladatel to call back to the US. Or rent a cell phone from cancunvalet.com. That's reasonable and easy. They will also arrange your airport transfer if you want.

Drink bottled water. We have gone to Cancun for for many years and always chew up a Pepto Bismol after each meal to keep our stomachs settled. Works like a charm.

I stayed at the Flamingo last month. Had a good time. Read my review if you want. There was a great beach there. So you should be able to get plenty of rest and relaxation. Or if you prefer the pool, that was OK as well.

Day-trips I recommend going to Isla Mujeras... or Xel-Ha (Shell-ha) Or maybe a snorkeling trip in Peurto Morales. There are Funjet reps right next to the main desk in the lobby that can set you up with anything you need.

A group of us stayed at the Flamingo last year and had a great time there. Everyone was very nice there. The check-in staff might be a little slow, but other that that they are very accomadating. We never tried to call home, but email home instead from the computers in the lobby. We only drank the bottled water and never had any trouble. I recommend taking a couple pepto bismal tablets or something everyday. If you see a security guard named Juan, tell him hi from the group from North Dakota.
