Where are the best restaurants in Guanajuato?
Are there any places that prepare traditional Mexican Food? What about suggestions for people-watching while having a beverage?

Now I was only there a few days so I am not the expert by any means.
I found the best food right in front of the Benito Juarez theater. and also about two blocks to the right of the theatre (If you are standing in front of it) there are these two restaurants that setup tables outside on the street. They are in front of the Church that it's right in middle of town, at this time the name espcapes me though. Anyway you can't miss it.
In the main square (jardin union) there is an outdoor cafe on the opposite side of theatre and I don't know about there food but they have the best lemonade ever!!! Or at least they did four years ago.

Truco 7 - funky little restaurant with jazz in the background. Absolutely try the pollo con mole -- the best!!
I'm with you Jeana -- that's our favorite place to eat. (Truco 7)Also Chao Bella on Calle Positos was wonderful last year. We've heard Casa Colorado is a beautiful place to sit because of the view but food not that terrific but never made it thereourselves. Oh yes, in Valenciana, wonderful restaurant across from church!
Truco7 and the Valenciana are good bets. Both are good food and safe too. That said, don't forget to avoid eating anything that isn't cooked! (meaning no ice in your drink, no salad, no fruit). Me gusto la comida!
