You're in luck! It's very easy, and relatively inexpenive, to get from the airport in Mexico City to Cuernavaca. There's a bus you can catch at the aiport that'll take you to Cuernavaca. Paste the following web address into your "address" bar on your computer, depress the "enter" key, and . . . you'll see the schedule for this bus service. These busses are first-class, clean and well-maintained.

Hola Jenna!

Go to:

aicm.com.mx/Principal/…Autobuses.htm

and scroll down to see the schedule table for times and service to Cuernavaca. It's on the first column for the PULLMAN bus line.

Have fun!

KM

Jenna, they are right about the bus it is first class. They'll serve you drinks along with a candy snack; you'll be able to watch a movie, or take advantage of a short nap. Once you arrive in Cuernavaca, there are taxi's just outside the terminal, or if someone is picking you up they'd do so in front of the terminal which means you have to walk out of the terminal past the taxi's turn to your right walk up the side walk then turn right again and walk to the front of the terminal and there you can wait for you ride. I would never rent a car in Mexico as the drivers are crazy, I say that lovingly as there great people, just crazy drivers. We just returned from Cuernavaca (Oct. 8th) after a 10-day visit with my son-in-laws family, we stayed at the Marie Christina hotel, which was very quaint and small, but met our needs, and has great staff and a very nice pool. Special note, very few people speak English, as this is not your normal tourist town, so hope you speak Spanish or have a companion who does. Also, travelers check are not taken in most places here, except for in the hotels, we cashed ours in at the bank across for the downtown courtyard. Hope this helps. Have fun.

If using travelers checks, get the American Express brand as we found we had trouble cashing other brands at the local casa de cambios. We stayed at Hotel Casa Colonial and it was charming and comfortable.

Regarding the bus in the Mexico City airport, don't be surprised if you don't get on the next one. We had to wait for two buses because tickets were already sold out. And if you take the bus from Cuernavaca back to the airport you should buy your ticket at least a day in advance. You'll need to go to the bus station in Cuernavaca to do this. Next time we will just hire a driving service.
