We used to stay at the BV every November for three weeks, back in the early 80's thru to the early 90's. It used to cost us $800.00 for three weeks, air hotel and transfers included, that hardly covers the tax now...Anyways, it was always a Mexican Hotel, more for the locals, but we (Four white girls) always had a great time.. Which brings me to now, we went back to PV in 2004, staying at an AI Near Bucerius. Wow a lot had changed, but I went back to the BV to check it out, the pool is still the same, but they added the "lounge" pool, it is nice. The rooms have not changed they still have the same green bed covers (Wow they are so old now!!) and the same mexican musty smell...but we had that at our AI, so it is just the humidity and the air conditioning. The restaurant and bars were still the same, but they added the SPA above the Pool bar, very nice. If you want to be close to town, it is definitely the hotel to go to...if you are nice to all the staff and flash some green (or brown, red, canadian money!) you get great service, and it you do not like your room, then they will change it...the room that is closest to the pool bar and has a little balcony on ground level (and a great place to watch the mexican fiesta from your own balcony) is room 1515. it was always my favorite, because we could walk right out get a chaise lounge and sleep some more, close to the bar too!! Enjoy Mexico, the culture the people and the beautiful sunshine!!
