Has anyone stayed at the "new" Blue Seas Resort? I just found it online. Apparently it's in the old Playa del Sol condo complex (I think.. as far as I can tell??) It looks really nice from the website, but I can't find any mention of it on tripadvisor, which seems a little weird. The website is blueseaspuertovallarta (dot) com. Any comments or reviews would be much appreciated. Thanks

I don't think you'll find a lot about it because most people probably don't know there has been a name change. News to me...

I would read the PDS Los Muertos reviews for information. Lots of privately owned condos in this building.

Thanks! Would you recommend booking privately or directly through the complex itself?

I can't really make a recommendation one way or the other - haven't stayed there.

I'm sure that Blue Seas is Playa Del Sol. The picture on the website looks exactly like the one bedroom we stayed in last year. I posted a review of it, liked it quite a bit. I don't know about booking, we got it as a timeshare exchange through Interval.

"I'm sure that Blue Seas is Playa Del Sol."

There's a picture in the 'gallery' (on that website), that shows what looks like the entrance (with the 'Blue Seas' sign evident). I assume that picture was taken from Amapas. Is that how the entrance to Playa del Sol looks, or looked (if the name has changed)?

I know how the Los Muertos side of Playa del Sol looks, but there are no good identifying pictures shown for that side, on that site.

Yes, it is Playa del Sol, in fact many of the photos on other websites still have the photo of the name, Playa del Sol on the arches.

What I do find a little add is that Yahoo is advertising it as a Gay and Lesbian all suites hotel which no one else is, including the Playa Group.

Brenda, do you know if it's gay and lesbian only? Love that part of town, hate to be excluded because we're straight.
