We are looking into a family vacation next winter in Manzanillo. We've never been there. We have an option to rent a villa at a gated community called Casa De Credo, but can find little info on it. It appears that it is fairly new and their website is primitive and has little info and no maps. Can anyone tell me how far it is to the beach, are there hotels in the area in case other family members want to stay nearby? Any restaurants, bars, etc in the area? How far is the airport? what is taxi fare there? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the complex is being built and is expected to be open soon, but am not sure.

La Jolla is a residential community next to Club Santiago, and many of the homes are already built. It seems that the owner of this villa (home) is building it for rental purposes. The gated community is not beachfront, so you would either have to take a bus to a nearby beach or the car if you are renting one. The nearest hotel would probably be Tenisol in Club Santiago, also Oasis Restaurant in Club Santiago. To get a better idea of where it is located, check the maps available on gomanznillo.com for more info. The majority of restaurants are further towards the middle of the bay and the next bay over. The two main grocery stores (Commercial and Soriana) as well as Walmart are on the other bay, about a 10-15 min ride from La Jolla. You do have a small supermarket La Vianda just outside the gate of Club Santiago.

Let me know what else you need and I can probably answer you.

Thanks, at least it puts me in the ballpark.

I'd be interested from hearing from anyone else with info, too.

Katwoman: I am impressed! Very good information! Seriously, There are many great rental properties in Manzanillo; virtually all of them are much closer to the ocean. Please don't miss the beauty of the area.

We were our first time in Manzanillo in March. I don't know about this gated community. We had a great time. No kids. But there are plenty of spots that are on the beach or have beach views. I wouldn't settle for less. If you want to see a different part of the beach take a taxi or the bus which is very inexpensive. The airport was about 35 minutes to where we stayed in Manzanillo, but our driver did not know how to get us there. We had fun.It also was Easter break and the roads were packed. Taxi for 4 people to go most places was about 5 US. We always paid in pesos. Again, My best advise. Look for an ocean view or be on the ocean. Also, we never had a meal we didn't like. We just enjoy different food.
