Nightlife question

Next weekend I will be taking six 30-50 year-old ladies to Acapulco and was considering the best options for nightlife. We've done Mojito's and I guess may do again but is there anything else?

1) Is Siboney (in Mandara) closed now? Was it replaced?

2) What about the new(ish) place (called "Fever") next to La Gauchita/Linda Vista (used to be Mezzanotte restaurant)? Is that open? Anyone been?

Thanks for any tips!

Siboney is open on the weekends....Ricardo is playing the piano there;...I think it may, however, be called The Monkey Bar this week.

The Clover Bar, next to Baby O's, plays 70's & 80's music every night that starts at 9 pm.

How was your trip and the night life?

How did you enjoy the traffic?

I am assuming you were here for the puente?

Anxious to hear the latest news and any updates!

We went to Siboney (as it is still called) Saturday night. It is not the same as it used to be - no dance show, no fireworks and only about 15 people there (it's not often I'm the youngest male in a place!). No cover charge and drinks were reasonable but......not exactly a vibrant atmosphere although everyone got drunk and started singing so we didn't leave until 5.30 in the morning. Disco was fairly busy and on the way home we passed El Albrije and Baby O's and cars were jammed outside there - plus the beach bars were all still going strong.

I didn't find the traffic too bad at all (I drove myself for a change this time). It is now possible to travel from La Escenica to Bonfil without any roadworks - the first time in the 14 years I have been visiting! The only major hassle I found was in Renacimiento where the main road to the highway is being dug up and it's absolute chaos.

We also breakfasted in El Encanto which is pricey but very, very good. The food was excellent and the service too (professional without being stuffy, friendly without being familiar). Visited Alejo's at Bonfil which has been remodeled and was fine.

Only spent 2 full days there so didn't cover a lot. I did notice a new piano bar at the back of Señor Frogs ("Amore"), Terra Luna has re-opened under a different name (advertising "Empanadas, Cortes, Pastas") and the Estrella Blanca bus terminal is getting a much-needed overhaul (looks very good). Anecdotally things seeming to be picking up with several million dollar homes in Las Brisas being sold in the last few weeks plus unofficial news of a full casino coming to town (with table games and everything - still, been hearing that rumor for years!).
