The answer is yes to your question. There are many fishing companies around fishing is not cheap. Check with yelowfinn fishing, Ocotal Resort

The reason the RIU Guanacaste is such a "hot topic" is because most of the people who participate on this forum -- except for MikeA943 - are totally against the RIU and everything it stands for. Basically, the hotel has a horrible environmental record which you can read about in several places.

Obviously, if you are going to the RIU next week, there's not much you can do about it. I do hope that if you know anyone else who is planning on going there, you might let them know to do a little research before making the booking.

I am sure you and your family will have a great time in Costa Rica.

For fishing, you might visit Playas del Coco. As Mike said, it will not be cheap if you want a regular deep-sea fishing experience. You might be able to ask around and find a smaller boat with a fisherman who would let you go out with him for a fee.

Thank you Hattie...100% with you!

For fishing visit Coco's beach or Ocotal...and hopefully find a person that you can dealt directly with/...some jokers around just looking for your money...and only God knows who they may be!

Thanks for the info...so I don't have to bring my Heinz ketchup. As for ocean swimming I understand water shoes are advisable due to the water activity causing little pebbles. Another question. Is the Palo Verde National Forest River tour an all day affair and how much per person?
