Ok, I jumped on a bargain vacation at the Viva Wyndam the first week in January .... I read the reviews good and bad but what the heck...we will mostly be sitting on the Beach and enjoying my retirement after 36 years on the Lynn fire dept. .... My question is swimable water ? Temps I mean and anything We should see or do while I am there....this is an AI but that doesn't stop us from going out to enjoy the local spots...thanks..
Water temps 75 or so. Quick plunge, initial shriek then enjoyment after about 5 seconds. Like a Massachusetts lake in the summertime. Quite swimmable.
Check out the "things to do" section on the left side of this page. Hit Port Lucayan for some local flavor, shopping, etc. Rainy day? Hit the casino at Grand Lucayan. Walk the beach in either direction, 3 local beach bars down the beach to the right. Lots of activities at the resort, it is what you make it.

Laryco we go the end of January for a 4 day trip as well (from Methuen) - please post back here as I will be interested in what you thought of the resort and area - this is our first time there as well. Hoping for some beach weather (sunning).
