Hi, we are staying at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau coming up this Spring and are trying to plan a day trip to visit one of the other islands. Any ideas as to what island(s) we should consider? Also, how would we get there?

We were looking at Harbour Island, but am I reading it correctly that if we wanted to take the ferry, it would be about $110 USD each roundtrip?

Yes, most transportation to the Out Island would cost about that or more.. Harbour Island or Northern Eleuthera would be my pick.

These islands are about 1.5 or more hours away.

If you are looking for Private Islands, off the coast of Nassau.. that's a different story. Many tours take trips to Pearl Island, Blackbeards Cay and soon Blue Lagoon.. which are just small cays within viewing distance of the harbour.

If your look for outisland trips.. contact bahamas ferrries

If you looking for a day on a private island (these are pretty commericialized islands) they contact your tour desk.
